SJS Students Begin Lenten Journey

Our St. Joseph School Community began its Lenten Journey with our Ash Wednesday Mass and Day of Retreat. Our fourth graders led our morning liturgy and Fr. Stephen reminded us of the importance of Praying, Fasting and Almsgiving during Lent. Recognizing Valentine's Day, Fr. Stephen pointed out that there is no greater sign of "love" than Jesus on the Cross. During the day we participated in various Prayer Partner activities. We also enjoyed our annual Lenten Pretzels that represent our arms crossed in prayer. Our 8th graders visited each classroom to help the students with other Lenten activities. It was a beautiful and peaceful day to begin our 40-day journey to Easter. For pictures, click here
